R610 Music Console delivers aesthetic appeal seldom seen among hi-fi components and this same devotion to detail is matched within. Powering R610 is a modern switch mode power supply, providing optimised powerlines to the system’s motherboard and latest generation digital amplifiers. With Burr-Brown DACs and audio grade components used throughout and a nominal output of 75 watts per channel, R610 is controlled and dynamic – but most importantly, it delivers a delightfully natural sound that makes music thoroughly enjoyable.

Our RotoDial controller has been a distinctive part of our products since 2006. For 100 Series we have refined its design further and with tactile soft touch buttons and a precisely weighted control dial, it makes operating R610 a delight. Enhancing the operating experience is the crisp 5" TFT display which confirms every command, as well as showing album and station artwork in perfect clarity. Also included is a matching rechargeable remote. Bluetooth connectivity means that aiming is not required, so you can relax and fully control R610 from afar.
R610 provides all the connectivity you are ever likely to need, and with its powerful CPU it can process the highest quality audio streams. With Internet Radio, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast all built in, a world of music awaits to be discovered.
R610 also makes it easy to rediscover treasured physical music formats. A quality phono stage makes it simple to connect a turntable, while for CD playback we have our own compact disc player called R-CD100 which integrates seamlessly with R610 via the USB-C connector on the rear. Last but not least, R610’s HDMI ARC/eARC connection provides a great sound solution for those seeking a system that also elevates TV and film enjoyment to a new level.
Also included with R610 are a pair of premium quality speaker cables, so you have everything you need to connect and to start enjoying sound as it should be.

Technology journalist and former editor for What Hi-Fi, Simon Lucas, unboxes our R610 and takes you through some of the basic functions and features of this compact music console.
Our 100 Series products have been designed for streaming, but for those who also desire the tactile pleasure of playing CDs and browsing album notes, then our custom R-CD100 CD Player offers the perfect solution.
AirPlay is Apple’s proprietary wireless streaming technology, enabling high-resolution audio to be sent over Wi-Fi from iOS apps such as Apple Music, Deezer, BBC Sounds and TuneIn Radio directly to all our 100 Series products.
Google Cast is Google’s wireless streaming technology. While primarily associated with Android devices, it is also supported by many iOS apps.
Using Google Cast, you can stream music directly over Wi-Fi to any of our 100 Series products from apps such as Amazon Music and BBC Sounds, with high-resolution audio quality.
Google Cast also supports voice control when used with a Google Nest Hub or compatible smart speaker. Initial setup requires the Google Home app, but once configured, you can simply say, “Hey Google, play BBC Radio 3 on my R610” etc, and playback will begin accordingly.
Spotify Connect is one of the world’s most popular music streaming platforms, allowing you to stream music over Wi-Fi directly to any of our 100 Series products. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device’s battery, because playback is delivered directly from Spotify’s cloud to your 100 Series product rather than through your smartphone or tablet. This means you can take calls, send messages or even switch off your device completely without interrupting playback.
With most of its music content in a high-resolution format, Tidal Connect has become popular with Wi-Fi enthusiasts worldwide. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device battery power, because the TIDAL Connect service pushes music directly from the TIDAL cloud to 100 Series products rather than playing through the device. This means that you can take calls and messages without interruption or even switch off your device completely.
Apple Music is Apple’s own music streaming service, giving subscribers access to over 100 million songs. Using built-in Apple AirPlay, you can stream wirelessly from Apple Music directly to any of our 100 Series products.
If you are an Amazon Music user, you can browse music/playlists and control playback directly from within the Amazon Music app to any of our 100 Series models using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast.
BBC Sounds is a great app that puts everything BBC radio-related into one easy-to-use application. Compatible with both AirPlay and Google Cast means that you can browse and control playback directly from within the BBC Sounds app and push your selection directly to any of our 100 Series products with high-resolution sound.
Deezer users can browse music/playlists and control playback directly from within the Deezer application to any of our 100 Series models using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast with best quality sound guaranteed.
Qobuz Connect is a relatively new music streaming service and like Tidal, it is building its reputation on offering the best quality audio streams along with an exciting and eclectic choice of music. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device battery power, because the Qobuz Connect technology pushes music directly from the Qobuz cloud to 100 Series products rather than playing through the device. This means that you can take calls and messages without interruption or even switch off your device completely.
The choice of Internet radio stations is vast and, in general, sound quality is superior to that of DAB or FM. Have fun browsing national and international stations and save your favourites as presets for easy access using 100 Series’ intuitive RotoDial controllers. Up to 20 stations can be stored for quick recall.
Internet radio is rapidly becoming the popular choice for radio listening, as it’s a format that works worldwide and an aerial is generally not required. DAB/DAB+ radio offers a greater selection of stations than FM and does not require an internet connection, but in general is only used across Europe and Australasia.
FM is still a great way to listen to radio as it exhibits a natural analogue warmth that is missing in low-bitrate DAB radio. In particular, it works well with spoken word and classical music, but a professionally installed external aerial is highly recommended for optimum reception and sound.
With a high-quality aptX HD Bluetooth receiver built-in, it means you can directly stream high-definition sound from your smartphone or computer to any of our 100 Series models without the need of a Wi-Fi connection. All our 100 Series models remember up to eight previously connected devices, making it easy to switch as required. Ideal in a busy family environment.
Our 100 Series models are 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz compatible so they will wirelessly connect and communicate with all dual-band Wi-Fi routers.
The Ethernet connection on our 100 Series models allows a direct link to your home network by connecting an Ethernet cable from the product to your router. A wired connection delivers optimum performance and avoids potential Wi-Fi signal issues around the home. If a direct cable run is impractical, Ethernet powerline adaptors can also be an effective solution, particularly in areas where the Wi-Fi signal is weak.
With their HDMI ARC/eARC input, all our 100 Series products make superb sound systems for TVs and a complete solution for your home entertainment needs. ARC/eARC connection also means you can use your TV remote to adjust volume whilst viewing as well as turn on and off.
The switchable optical input on our 100 Series models allows you to easily connect external streaming devices or TVs that do not have HDMI ARC connection.
All our 100 Series models feature two sets of switchable RCA inputs.
The phono-in is a dedicated turntable input with a high-quality RIAA phono stage built-in, allowing turntables with a moving magnet cartridge to be directly connected without the need for a separate preamplifier.
The line-in input allows you to connect a variety of other auxiliary devices with line-level outputs, such as a standard CD player or gaming console.
R410, R610 and R710 all feature a dedicated subwoofer output, so if you want extra bass output, then an active subwoofer can be easily connected. Our own RS1 Subwoofer is an ideal option.
For CD enthusiasts we have a dedicated compact disc player called R-CD100. This integrates and connects with our R410, R610 and R810 models via the USB socket on the rear. When connected, CD is automatically added to the list of sources and then using the RotoDial controller you can control playback just as you would a built-in player.
Using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast, you can build an easy-to-manage multi-room system, linking our 100 Series models together or with other AirPlay and Google Cast compatible speakers.
Wireless updates allow us to deliver over-the-air improvements to our 100 Series models, whether to add new features or resolve reported issues, ensuring they always perform as intended.
The Media Servers source on all our 100 Series models means you can store downloaded music or ripped CDs on a shared PC, Mac or NAS drive to create your own home music library and then browse and playback using the Media Servers source.
Our 100 Series models are capable of supporting all the most popular audio file formats to the highest resolutions, providing true high-fidelity reproduction.
MP3 up to 48kHz 320kbps
AAC up to 96kHz 320kbps
