For DAB reception, firstly we recommend that you use this postcode checker to see which DAB stations you should be able to receive. Depending on where your unit is sited you may find that signal strength is insufficient to provide clear and reliable playback. On DAB this will result in burbling sound and on FM you will hear background hiss.

Like TVs, radios require a good signal for them to work properly. In most cases the supplied telescopic aerial when fully extended upright will work fine, but if you live in a remote area or a building of steel construction or with dense walls, then you should consider the fitting of an external aerial. Even in good reception areas, an external aerial is a good investment as this will provide best performance and will allow you to access stations which are out of range for an indoor aerial.

If you have one of our models with Internet Radio built in, then we suggest that you use this feature. Using Internet Radio means that you can dispose of the telescopic aerial and in general, sound quality and choice of stations is far greater.
